Forums
Forums are groups that represent areas of scholarly and professional interests for MLA members. In addition to providing a community of scholars with whom you can share your work, forums offer opportunities to participate in guaranteed convention sessions and—through forum delegate elections—ensure breadth of representation in the MLA Delegate Assembly.
Members may choose up to five primary forum affiliations. A primary forum affiliation entitles you to receive all mailings initiated by the forum and to vote in forum delegate elections. MLA members also have the option of participating in as many forum groups on MLA Commons as they wish; however, joining or leaving a Commons group does not affect primary affiliation selections.
To select your primary forums, visit My MLA between 15 December and 15 October. To browse and join forum groups on MLA Commons, visit the Commons groups directory and select “Forums” from the dropdown menu.
To learn more about forum governance, visit Policies for Forums and Allied Organizations.
To see lists of current forum executive committee members, visit Forum Executive Committees.
(Note: The number at the end of each forum listing below is an identifying number that is used to record forum registration in the membership database.)
